TESTIMONIALS

I had been dancing salsa bachata before rueda de casino but I have never experienced the close community feel that 33 has. We are friends outside of class as well. Michael is tremendous at true community building be it at the yearly dance and dine or the smaller socials . This is what sticks.

Great group, quality lessons, and fantastic music.

An overall terrific organization for the dance community!

-Paul Phillips

This community has given me a safe haven to escape the disappoints of life via dance and away to connect to my Cuban heritage.

-Julius Coles

I have been dancing rueda for a long time and I have joined multiple instructors and groups. What 33 is and has is special beyond rueda moves, practices or performances. Mike has created a community from zero and that community has built into this wonderful loving, support group with completely different backgrounds, styles and dancing levels where everyone is and feels welcomed. I am glad and proud to be able to be part of it.

This Rueda movement has been a testimonial in and of itself. The joy it brings to people’s lives and the way it brings together people from all walks of life... it’s magic.

As a dancer and a DJ, RUEDA 33 has given me a whole new world of dance moves connected with so many wonderful people united within one circle and has opened an entire other door to new music. Thank you Treinta y Tres!

What a great opportunity to dance, learn and practice Rueda de Casino. Mike is a great teacher and the students are friendly and giving. I came to every one of the eight classes Mike taught in Q4 2021, and I had a blast. Come join the Rueda classes starting early Jan 2022

Rueda is the coming together of three positive forces in my life: dance, community and creativity. Salsa dancing has became my passion in life for the past 2 1/2 years. A new lease, you could say! Then in April of this year, i began lessons at SITS with Michael and Wow! A new passion released! The three forces came together for me in that one class and the ones that followed. I equate Rueda to American Square Dancing but with way better music, so many interesting combinations of dance moves and one never knows just what move is coming up.  Lastly, there aren’t partners, per se, just community. Makes life sweet!

-Robin Deutsch Herman

Any way to learn about where Rueda is going on is a PLUS!! I found it to be soooo much fun, with Salsa moves, great Latin music, teamwork, and the laughter when anyone flubs up!! Michael is a great teacher too!!

What Rueda means to me: A group of people that come together to move, and flow together as one. A group that acts as a team, to help, guide, push, encourage, tease, have fun and enjoy the magic that happens when the group becomes one.  A multi-cultural gathering of people that share the same commonality of dance. About the Maestro: Passionate, driven, motivated, focused, trustworthy, outgoing & loving. When you are a “Leader” others will easily follow. To be able to quickly bring people together both near, and far just to be a part of Rueda for a short time speaks so much of the love & dedication of Rueda.

Where do I begin?? Treinta y Tres was a whole VIBE!! The group attended my church's 10th Anniversary Celebration as the "entertainment" for the night. The had great energy, awesome dance moves & they were a ball of fun!! My Pastors loved their performance...and so did the Partners of our ministry ESPECIALLY when they asked for audience participation. Everyone joined in dancing the night away. We're so appreciative of their presence & performance.. Can't wait to have them back for another event!!

As someone who enjoys all types of music, the dance component has become that extra layer of happiness that fills my soul. I’ve felt fortunate enough to be able to explore the dance social scene and learn more about each dance, more of myself and best of all meet wonderful people who share the same interest. Rueda is the newest dance I’ve challenged myself to learn. The team has been welcoming and it’s easy to get hooked on the positive vibes the group displays. Dancing has provided a confidence I never had before. I dance to find peace with myself and to feel free. La vida es más bella bailando!

Hi Mike just a quick note to say thanks for the Casino Rueda Class. I know it’s easy to be nervous about learning something new, but you made it really comfortable and easy to understand. All I can say is, it came down to having fun; kinda like when you’re learning to sing a new song; you start learning the words, you start feeling the music and before you know it, you’re laughing and having fun. So thanks again it was awesome.

I started dancing Rueda in July 2019 and since then my life has become more joyful, I made so many friends, and I discovered a new way to express myself through music! Thanks to Michael Payne, I am now part of a growing movement in Delaware and a community of wonderful and joyful individuals who share the love of dancing together. I can't wait to learn new moves and share more magical moments with everyone in the Treinta y Tres community!

With all my excitement and gratitude,

-Maria Rusu (team member)

It was early 2017 when I first heard about Rueda de Casino, a contagious rhythm from Cuba. Spring 2019 I asked Mike Payne to do a lesson at Timothy's for our Latin Night. It was then that I fell in love with Rueda! 3 Reasons: 1. It absolutely brings people together that all share the same passion of dance. 2. An EXCELLENT way to make new friends. 3. OMG what a great exercise!

- Danielle Toscano

Rueda has been a passion of mine for a long time! I am so happy that it is gaining popularity quickly so we can dance rueda more often. It is such a fun way to bring a group of people together, creating joy and community with every dance! I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of the team and the rueda movement.

-Susan Payne (team member)

What 33 means to me...there is not much that compares to loving to dance and dancing to your favorite song with a group of people that have become family.

-Lisandra Molina

Rueda is awesome for adults and kids to learn to dance.  I really like being around the group.  It's like slime put together into one whole unit of people.

-Madison Payne (12 years old)

Rueda to me is Community, teamwork, joy, laughter, synergy, love happiness.  It's the opportunity to connect with people on a joyous level working together to create something beautiful!

Love, family, home

I get a sense of community from dancing rueda. It brings people together even if they don't speak the same language.  I can't tell you how much fun I have while dancing and learning new moves with the group. It's also a great way to make new friends and improve your salsa skills.

-Malika Jamison
